Speaking about the incident in Dmanisi, the chairperson of the parliamentary self-government committee, Sozar Subari, said that the cause of the conflict was no confrontation on any ethnic grounds.
Subari said everyone should refrain from making assessments until the investigation is completed.
"The culprits will be identified and held accountable until the investigation is completed. It is not easy to make an assessment before that. There can be no talk of ethnic conflict," said Subari.
A confrontation took place in Dmanisi yesterday. The owner of the store, who is undergoing treatment at home, was beaten.
Interrogations at the Dmanisi police station continued throughout the night and today.
Video footage of yesterday's incident was released by one of the local publications. The controversy was recorded by a surveillance camera installed near the store.
According to the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Alexander Darakhvelidze, all persons involved in the incident will be identified and will be held accountable under the relevant articles.
