"Students above the fifth grade will be obliged to wear masks at school," the Minister of Education of Georgia Mikheil Chkhenkeli said after meeting the Coordination Council.
According to the Minister, the schools' infrastructure, including the issue of bathrooms, has been improved, and there is a full readiness to resume the educational process on February 15.
"As you know, on February 15, the educational process will continue at schools in Tbilisi, Kutaisi, and Rustavi. Accordingly, we have decided that in all schools, starting from the fifth grade onwards, it will be necessary for students to wear masks. As for the detailed instructions, these will be distributed to the schools today, and they will have appropriate communication with the parents.
Everything is being done to maintain the good dynamics we already have. In addition to Tbilisi, Rustavi, and Kutaisi, the teaching process in the classrooms has already begun at other schools. The process is peaceful and needs to be maintained. The school must be, is, and will be a safe place for everyone," Mikheil Chkhenkeli said.
