Tamar Gabunia: COVAX publishes scheme, Georgia will receive Pfizer vaccine as an exception

According to the Deputy Minister of Health, Tamar Gabunia, the allocation scheme published on the COVAX platform covers 140 countries, to be supplied with coronavirus vaccines in the first phase.

According to Gabunia, 18 of them have been identified, including Georgia, which will receive the Pfizer vaccine as an exception.

"A detailed allocation scheme for AstraZeneca and Pfizer was published on the COVAX platform yesterday.

The quantity announced from the beginning - 29,250 doses remains the same. We will know by the end of March when exactly they will arrive.

As for AstraZeneca, the allocation indicates 129,600 doses, which Georgia should receive by the end of May.

COVAX clarifies that the amount described in yesterday's communication does not mean a reduction in the dose of vaccine allocated to Georgia," Tamar Gabunia said.
