Tamar Gabunia: This is very alarming

The Deputy Minister of Health, Tamar Gabunia, calls the pace of vaccination in recent days alarming and notes that more action is needed to stimulate the process.

"The rate of vaccination has decreased in recent days. Even though it was Sunday and maybe more citizens had time to get vaccinated, it did not happen, and a little over 7,000 were vaccinated. Of course, it is very alarming and indicates that there is a serious need to stimulate vaccination even more," Tamar Gabunia said.

According to her, the capital is leading in terms of vaccination results, and the situation in the regions needs attention in this regard.

"Tbilisi leads, where more than 60% of the adult population is covered, but the same can not be said about other regions. The low coverage rate in the older age groups is especially noteworthy," Tamar Gabunia said.
