Pediatrician and Director of Iashvili Children Hospital, Ivane Chkaidze, says that influenza is circulating far more actively this year compared to the previous year.
''We have so far officially confirmed 15 influenza cases, both type A and B. Both easter and western regions of the country have recorded cases. We have three patients with influenza at Iashvili hospital. Compared to last year, influenza circulates much more actively now. We expect case numbers to rise. Vaccination is one of the most efficient tools against influenza,'' Chkhaidze stressed.
