During the last 24 hours, most of the confirmed cases of coronavirus in Georgia have been reported in Tbilisi. Berdia Sichinava, the Deputy Chief of the Operational Staff at the Interagency Coordination Council, stated at a Government Administration briefing.

The distribution of new coronavirus cases by regions is as follows:

"636 cases in Tbilisi, 333 in Adjara, 320 in Imereti, 121 in Kvemo Kartli, 76 in Shida Kartli, 18 in Guria, 119 in Samegrelo and Zemo Svaneti, 9 in Kakheti, 9 in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 39 in Samtskhe-Javakheti, 15 in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti", Berdia Sichinava stated.

During the last day, 1 731 new coronavirus cases got detected in Georgia, and the number of infected people increased to 33 858.

Fifteen people have died during the last 24 hours, with the death toll increasing to 253 people.

The first case of coronavirus got detected on February 26, 2020, in Georgia.

The World Health Organization recognized coronavirus as a pandemic on March 11, 2020.

The outbreak of pneumonia in China began in December of 2019.

China confirmed that coronavirus was contagious and declared quarantine in two cities on January 21.
