Santa Claus from Lapland, who is a Global Goodwill Ambassador, has visited the Enguri Bridge today, according to the Press Office of the State Representative of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region.

"We are at an immensely special place. Today, this bridge is still separating Abkhazia's breakaway region from free Georgia. My principal duty in the world is to serve as a goodwill ambassador. I know that in the immediate future, this border will cease to exist, and I wish to come here next year and celebrate its absence. It would be the best wish for Georgia and the entire world. The time for the Georgian people and free Georgia has come. I love you, and I wish you all the very best," The Global Goodwill Ambassador declared at the Enguri Bridge.

The Finnish guest has also wished a Happy New Year to children in the village of Rukhi, and later handed gifts over IDPs on Baramia Street in Zugdidi Municipality.

"After Zugdidi, Santa Claus will visit Poti, and Mestia tomorrow, January 2. He will stay in Georgia before January 9 and will visit different regions and cities of the country.

The project has been initiated by the Georgia-Finland Relations Association and the International Center of Georgia-Finland Friendship and Cultural Relations. The project is being carried out with the support of the State Representative of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region," reads the statement by the Press Office of the State Representative of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region.

Hosts of The Goodwill Ambassador are Davit Verava, the Deputy of the State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Konstantine Kakava, the Deputy Mayor of Zugdidi, and other representatives of the local government.
