Three medical staff of Republic Hospital confirmed virus-positive

Three medical personnel of the Tbilisi Republic Hospital are confirmed coronavirus-positive.

Eighty staff members of the Hospital have been tested for coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

According to the Clinical Director of the Hospital, there are nine of the medical personnel who contracted coronavirus. Their health condition is satisfactory.

“We almost completed the testing of the staff. We have tested the whole medical team, administration, and luckily, almost 80 percent are virus-negative; only three of the tested are infected” – said Levan Gopodze.

As for the source of infection, the doctor says that the Center for Infectious Disease Control is investigating the sources, but based on the preliminary information, they got infected in the Hospital.

Reminder: Thirteen new cases of infection are registered in Georgia today.

Two more people have recovered.

In Georgia, the first coronavirus infection case was registered on February 26, 2020.

WHO recognized the pandemic on March 11, 2020.

The pneumonia outbreak started in December 2019 in China.

On January 21, China declared the virus was transmitting human-to-human and locked down two big cities.
