The State Agency for Religious Issues informs that Shiite Muslims celebrate Kadir Hum – the day of Ali’s election as Imam (Leader) as the order and mediation of God.
Following the Muslims’ belief, Mohammed declared Ali the Muslims’ Imam, in the presence of thousands of witnesses, and established Imamate as a spiritual institution. Mohammed’s cousin, Imam Ali, was the first child to embrace Islam.
