The traditional Friday prayer took place in the Muslim chapel in the village of Buknari, attended by the Mufti of all Georgia Adam Shantadze.
The group prayer got performed by local Muslims as well as representatives of the Muslim community from different regions.
The religious ritual is taking place in a calm atmosphere. Representatives of non-governmental organizations and civil activists are on the spot.
The Mufti of all Georgia preached at the Friday prayers, calling on the believers to be united and forgiving.
"As Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani's "Strength in Unity" teaches us, we will be strong when we are together. Allah commands us to take care of each other, to respect each other's opinion and do not judge each other," said the Mufti of all Georgia, Adam Shantadze.
Another meeting between the Christian and Muslim population will be held in the village of Buknari today, after the prayers. Representatives of the government will also attend the meeting.
