Tsertsvadze labels coronavirus vicious

Tengiz Tsertsvadze, the director of the Infectious Diseases Hospital, defined coronavirus as exceptionally vicious. In his words, the novel virus is different from any other so far known viruses as it wreaks havoc on the cardiovascular system, and it is far from being just pneumonia. Tsertsvadze says that this deadly bug does not only damages your respiratory system but it also causes blood clots which lead to thromboembolism, respiratory failures, strokes, and other complications.

"This virus does a lot of harm to your respiratory system as well as the cardiovascular system and causes lots of cardiovascular diseases, inflammation, and other syndromes the perfect example of which is a syndrome found in children recently, which is immensely similar to Kawasaki syndrome," Tsertsvadze declared.

Georgia has so far recorded 723 confirmed coronavirus cases, 495 recoveries, and 12 deaths. A total of 3,259 citizens have so far been quarantined here, and 323 provided with inpatient care.

Georgia reported its first case on 26 February 2020. The coronavirus was labeled a pandemic on 11 March 2020, while its outbreak in China started in December of 2019. On 21 January, China confirmed that the novel virus is contagious and declared quarantine in its two cities.
