"Another recognition of the effectiveness of Georgia's anti-coronavirus measures," Tengiz Tsertsvadze, the head of Tbilisi's infectious diseases, Aids, and immunology research center, posted on social media.

"The University of Oxford updates countries rankings according to the effectiveness of their governments' anti-COVID measures daily.

The assessment is complex based on a total of 19 indicators. They may be divided into governmental policy indicators, countries' economic policy indicators, including its efforts to pay decent salaries to its citizens, and the healthcare system policy indicators, which comprises testing, patient flow management, vaccination, and others.

As the data of 15 January 2021 have it, Georgia, along with Greece, ranks tenth or eleventh, with Germany, Ireland, and Italy only ranking higher out of the countries of Europe and North America," Tsertsvadze wrote.
