From January 13, different events are set to be held at Republic square, according to Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze, who has attended the Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
"The Christmas tree is absolutely gorgeous. I want to express my gratitude to those who have planned and held this event. I do thank each citizen who has come here; I also thank those who genuinely wanted to come but could not. From 25 December to 13 January, from noon to midnight, everyone can come and visit our "New Year's village" and attend different concerts, performances or meet cartoon characters together with their children and grandchildren. At this point, from 25 December to 13 January, different events will be held at Republic square and Orbeliani square. We have made all-out efforts to give the tree a natural look," declared the Mayor and added that the trend of making artificial Christmas trees as realistic as possible is widespread worldwide.
