"Daily vaccination of 5 000 people is a good indicator," said Tamar Gabunia, the Deputy Minister of Health.
Georgia is expected to receive the vaccine from Novavax and Jonson & Jonson from the COVAX platform in July.
"It may be frustrating when a citizen calls and there is no vaccine, but in the short term, we will be able to mobilize additional doses of Sinopharm; Sinovac will certainly help us as well. We also expect Covax to add Novavax and Jonson & Jonson from July.
The process is quite active. A daily vaccination of 5 000 people is a good indicator. Citizens who want to get vaccinated should wait for their dose. I am also waiting for my dose; I have not been vaccinated yet; although I have had the opportunity to do it many times, I will wait until a large number of the population is covered," Gabunia said.
