“Petre Tsaava was deprived of the high priest ranking of the Metropolitan Bishop of Chkondidi , he has not been suspended or ordained, he remains a priest, though he will not be able to fulfill the responsibilities of a priest for a while”, Protoiereus Longilos Duarishvili said.
According to the Protoiereus, in case of repentance, he may even return to his Diocese, as bishop Grigol Katsia is only interim ruler in the Chkondidi Diocese.
"He was obliged to obey the decision of the Holy Synod. In case of disobedience, severe punishment could be imposed. The question of going to Shio-Mgvime Monastery is an advice and if he does not obey it, he is unlikely to receive any additional punishment. If Petre Tsaava continues to make such statements and will not regret his behavior, he will receive punishment", Protoiereus Longilos Duarishvili said.
