“The EU report one more recognition of Georgian government’s success concerning the implementation of visa liberalization,” – said the Foreign Minister of Georgia, Davit Zalkaliani.

According to the Minister, the country is successfully fulfilling the taken responsibilities. Georgia considers that one of the essential achievement – visa liberalization is under no risk.

“According to the EU evaluation, the government of Georgia has undertaken significant steps in illegal migration and crime prevention. Productive cooperation with Frontex and Europol is also positively evaluated in the report and the expansion of attaché net in the European Schengen countries. What is noteworthy, the European Union has particularly mentioned the success of the Georgian government in managing the crisis amid the COVID-19 epidemic, including the timely lockdown and curfew introduction. The report also reads the positive feedback on the process of return of 13,000 Georgian citizens from foreign countries back to Georgia amid the pandemic.” – said Zalkaliani.
