Russian skater Anastasia Gubanova will defend the dignity of Georgia from now on. The Georgian Figure Skating Federation spreads the information.

The 18-year-old sportswoman will represent Georgia in the women's unit.

"Anastasia Gubanova is a new member of the Georgian team! Anastasia is the silver medalist of the 2018 Golden Spin of Zagreb and the vice-champion of the 2016 Youth Grand Prix. Anastasia Gubanova will represent Georgia in the girl's category. You will soon find out where we will see Anastasia's new programs for this season," said the statement of the Georgian Figure Skating Federation.

Anastasia Gubanova lived and trained in St. Petersburg until 2018. She spent the 2018/19 season in Moscow at CSKA, where she was training with Elena Buyanova. In the summer of 2019, she returned to St. Petersburg and continued training in the Evgeni Rukavicin group. Gubanova has appeared in the Russian championship four times, and the best result was 6th place. She has twice won the Junior Grand Prix stages and was second in the series final.
