In two days, another large-scale sporting event begins. From July 23 to August 8, Tokyo will host the Olympic Games, which will feature more than 11,000 athletes from 206 countries. It will be the second time in history that the Summer Olympics will be held in the Japanese capital.
Tokyo - 2020 was supposed to occur last summer, but the organizers decided to postpone the tournament due to the coronavirus pandemic. Nevertheless, the event still retained its name.
Sports activities will be held at 42 Tokyo Square. Tokyo 2020 will officially open on July 23, at 15:00, at the New National Stadium. This stadium can accommodate 68,000 spectators, but due to COVID-19, the number of spectators will be limited.
Georgia will be represented by 35 athletes in 11 categories at the Tokyo Olympics.
