Tokyo Olympic organizers are trying to stop rumors that this year's 2020 Olympic Games might be canceled or postponed because of the spread of a new coronavirus.
"We have never considered canceling the Games," said Seiko Hashimoto, Japan's Olympics Minister. "We will work closely with the IOC and other relevant organizations and review any countermeasures whenever necessary." Japan's Olympic Minister also expressed her confidence in hosting a successful Olympic and Paralympic Games, which begin in less than six months.
According to the latest information, seventeen cases of coronavirus are registered in Japan.
