Organizers of the Tokyo Olympics will prepare 300 rooms in a hotel near the Olympic city, where athletes with mild coronavirus symptoms will be accommodated, Reuters reports.
Rooms will be reserved for athletes and staff who are symptomatic but do not require hospitalization.
According to the organizers, it is planned that the athletes will go through a ten-day quarantine at the hotel. In addition, it is planned to prepare up to 30 special vehicles that will serve athletes with COVID-19. Drivers will be protected from infection in transport.
Earlier it was reported that Japan intends to reduce the number of participants in the Olympics significantly. The organizers do not recommend official guests who are not directly related to participating in the Olympics to travel to the country.
