An autopsy revealed that the former player, Diego Maradona, had not taken pills to improve heart function before his death.
Maradona is known to have cirrhosis of the liver, chronic kidney disease, myocardial fibrosis. His heart weighed 503 grams, which is almost twice the norm. Maradona also had lung problems. It was noted that he did not drink alcohol in the last days of his life and did not consume drugs.
A forensic examination found traces of several psychotropic drugs and antidepressants in Maradona's body.
Maradona died at the age of 60 at home on November 25. He was undergoing rehabilitation after surgery. A heart attack was named as the cause of death of the athlete.
