F.C. Torpedo Kutaisi will presumably have a new owner. Mayor of Kutaisi Giorgi Chigvaria and State Representative in Imereti Zviad Shalamberidze have met with an Italian investor. The investor agreed with the conditions by the City Hall.
Negotiations on technical issues are set to be completed at the end of this week.
The parties reportedly agreed on the guaranties, ensuring stable funding of the team, stable contracts, and compliance with the contract conditions.
"We are here because of F.C. Torpedo Kutaisi. We aim to buy the club. Negotiations with the representatives of the city proved successful. Our plans are ambitious," Fabio Manini said.
Fans have staged rallies to save Torpedo Kutaisi after several footballers left it. They called upon the government to adopt effective measures to save the football club.
