Mercedes racer Lewis Hamilton will miss the Bahrain tournament. He was diagnosed with coronavirus. A statement about this got posted on the "Formula 1" Twitter account.
"Lewis Hamilton will miss the Sakhir Grand Prix in Bahrain this weekend," a statement said.
The Mercedes team also noted that the racer has mild symptoms of the disease.
"Lewis is now isolated following the COVID-19 protocol. Apart from the mild symptoms, he is in good shape overall, and the whole team wishes him a speedy recovery," the statement said.
The Sakhir Grand Prix will take place at the Bahrain Autodrome from December 4 to 6. It is the penultimate race of the championship. The final will be held on December 13 in Abu Dhabi.
