The licensed tournament of the Tokyo Olympics will start tomorrow, March 18, in the capital of Hungary, where the first and second days will be dedicated to the performance of freestyle wrestlers. Medals will be given out in six Olympic weight categories in the competition. Athletes from Europe will be represented at the tournament, and only wrestlers who have reached the final will receive tickets to the Olympics.
The Georgian freestyle wrestling team in two weights - 97 and 125 kilograms has already obtained Olympic licenses.
Tomorrow, March 18, the preliminary meetings will start in the morning, and by the evening, it will be known who will win the trip to the Olympics. The finals and the fights for third place will be held on March 19.
On March 20-21, Greco-Roman wrestlers will participate in the tournament, where our team has already won an Olympic trip in two weights.
The Budapest tournament is the penultimate competition for an Olympic license. The last tournament will be held in Sofia on May 6-9, where wrestlers from all over the world will arrive, and the finalists will get tickets there as well.
