The players of the Georgian national football team have been confirmed with the coronavirus. The Football Federation spreads information about the infected.

According to the Federation, the November 10 test showed a positive result for two players - Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Levan Shengelia. According to the protocol, the players are in isolation and will be under the supervision of a medical team in the coming days.

"Georgian national football team continues to prepare for the European Championship qualifiers, the play-off finals, and the UEFA League of Nations' final matches. Georgian national team started training for the next matches with 29 players in Tbilisi on November 9. Before the training session, the players' COVID-19 tests showed negative responses, and the team started training following the rules set out in the protocol. According to the UEFA protocol, two days before the official match (November 10), mandatory testing of both players and team officials took place. In accordance with the protocol, the results of these tests got provided to the governing body of European football. The November 10 test showed a positive response to two players. Repeated tests of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Levan Shengelia confirmed the virus. At this stage, the Georgian national team continues to prepare for the matches against Northern Macedonia on November 12, Armenia, on November 15, and Estonia on November 18 with 27 players," the statement reads.
