Spectators will not attend the start of the Olympic flame relay due to anti-coronavirus measures in Japan, Yomiuri newspaper reports.

It was initially planned that the event would be attended by up to 3 000 people, including guests. The program featured performances by various performers. However, the Japanese government has significantly reduced the scale of the event.

The start of the Olympic flame relay is scheduled for March 25 at the Fukushima Prefecture Football Training Center. The event will last 121 days. Up to 10 thousand people will take part in the relay.
