The International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Paralympic Committee, and the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee have presented the first version of the Olympic, and Paralympic Games rules in Japan.

Athletes are required to use a program in which they enter health status data, avoid physical contact with others as much as possible, including shaking hands, keeping a two-meter distance, and drawing up an action plan. In addition, athletes will be prohibited from attending the competition as spectators.

Before leaving for Tokyo, all athletes must submit a negative coronavirus test result.

The next version of the rules will be available by April.

The Olympic Games in Tokyo were supposed to take place from July 24 to August 9, 2020. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the competition got postponed for a year and will be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021. As for the Paralympic Games, they will take place from August 24 to September 5.
