"Spectators with a temperature of more than 37.5 degrees will not be allowed at the Olympic venues in Tokyo," the head of the organizing committee of "Tokyo 2020", Seiko Hashimoto, stated.
"This is done to prevent the spread of the coronavirus," she said.
Hashimoto said the screening would be performed using a thermograph and a contactless thermometer.
According to the decision of the organizing committee, the sale of alcohol at sports facilities will be banned.
The spectators attending the sporting event will be obliged to keep the tickets after two weeks in order to establish their contacts in case of coronavirus infection.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games organizers have estimated that 10 thousand Japanese spectators will attend the Games, and no more than 50% of the sports facilities will be filled.
The Tokyo Olympics was supposed to be held last year, but international sports competitions were postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The games will be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021.
