Three Georgians will try to win medals at the World Judo Championship in Budapest today.

Vazha Margvelashvili will compete in the 66-kilogram weight category. In the 52-kilogram category, Tatiana Levitska-Shukvani will meet Gultai Mamadalieva from Azerbaijan in the first round. Mariam Janashvili will compete in the same weight category, and her opponent in the second round will be either Mozambican Jasira Ferreira or Mongolian Sosorbara Lkhagvasuren.

Preliminary meetings will start at 12:00 Tbilisi time, and the final block - at 19:00.

Georgians did not compete on the first day of the tournament yesterday. Georgian Iago Abuladze became the world champion in the men's 60-kilogram weight category on behalf of Russia. In the final, he defeated Gusman Kyrgyzbayev in a minute and 35 seconds.

In women, Japanese Natsumi Tsunoda became the world champion in 48 kg. In the final, she defeated compatriot Wakana Koga.
