The Beijing Winter Olympics do not pose a threat to the spread of the coronavirus, said Michael Ryan, the director of the World Health Organization's emergency program.
"As during the Summer Olympics, we are working with the Chinese government and the International Olympic Committee to provide them with technical recommendations for the safe conduct of the Winter Games. The Chinese government has introduced strict measures and released several guides that we value. I am convinced that given the information received and the extremely strict measures taken, we do not see a risk of spreading the coronavirus at this stage," Ryan said.
