The Penitential, Probation, and Rehabilitation Department of California plans to release 8,000 prisoners to prevent coronavirus spread.
According to the Department's statement, the number of prisoners of the state has decreased by 10 thousand after March the current year. The mentioned measure is applied in staff and prisoners' safety provision purposes.
The act refers to the prisoners' with one-year of less charge remaining. Exclusion is the prisoners charged with domestic violence or sexual abuse that will stay imprisoned.
