A 29-year-old man killed by a collapsed stadium roof in Saint-Petersburg
A worker has been killed when a sports complex roof collapsed prematurely in the Russian city of St Petersburg. According to the Emergency Management Minister
The Russian Emergencies Ministry the tragedy occurred when the workers were conducting various demolition works. There were two workers on the site. One of them escaped in the crane; the other one got under the heap of rubble. The killed man is twenty-nine-year-old Matvey Kucherov.
The complex was opened in 1980 for the Summer Olympics in Moscow. At present, it was closed. It is meant to be renovated for the 2023 Hockey World Championship.
