Seven died, and sixty people are infected by new SFTS type virus in China, reports India Today.
It is a tick-borne bite spreading virus. According to an infected woman, the first symptoms were cough and fever. Doctors say SFTS causes a decrease of leukocytes and thrombocytes in blood.
Thirty-seven people were diagnosed with SFTS in Jiangsu early months of 2020, and twenty-three were later confirmed infected.
Local medical representatives do not exclude human-to-human transmission of the infection. It can be spread through blood or mucus. The primary source of transmission is the tick-borne bite.
The first SFTS case was registered in 2011.
