The United States Air Force is changing the dress code policy for military personnel. According to CNN, from now on, pilots are allowed to wear not only beards but also hijabs and turbans.

With this decision, the US military wants to support Muslims and Sikhs who serve in the country's military, but at the same time want to live by their religious traditions.

According to CNN, there is only one condition - "Everything must look neat and conservative."

Before that, military personnel were allowed to wear turbans and hijabs, but had to apply, and ask for permission.

Muslim rights activists already welcomed the Pentagon's decision.

"We support these new guidelines as a step toward religious accommodation and inclusion for military personnel of all faiths," Ibrahim Hooper, national communications director for the Council of American-Islamic Relations, stated.

Human rights defenders urge the US Department of Defense to impose such measures further.
