One of Wuhan's most senior doctors has reportedly been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus. According to the local media, she is now undergoing required treatment procedures. Information saying that the doctor's condition was critical and blood plasma was necessary to save her was also spread; however, later, other reports said that she was not in urgent need of the plasma.
This is the second case of a doctor infected with a deadly virus.
On Feb.18, the virus claimed the life of a Wuhan senior doctor. Confirmation emerged of the death last Thursday of Xu Depu, the former director of the Ezhou city Chinese medicine hospital in Hubei province. A nurse at the hospital confirmed his death on Tuesday, according to reports in state media.
A total of 74 185 patients have been diagnosed with the lethal virus, with 11977 being in critical conditions and 2004 dead. 14,300 people have reportedly recovered and been discharged from the hospital.
