Violent clashes between demonstrators and security forces injured more than 370 people.
The protests have rocked Lebanon since October last year, with Lebanese against the economic crisis and social inequality.
“The country is frozen. The government does not listen. Even if one has money in banks, it is impossible to get it” – told riot participant to Reuters.
The security forces responded with water cannons, rubber bullets, and tear gas to disperse the crowds. In response, the protesters threw rocks and plant pots at anti-riot police guarding the road leading to parliament.
The Lebanese Red Cross reports 220 injured, 80 placed in hospitals, 120 more injured from the law-enforcers’ side.
