According to Socar President, Rovzan Abdulayev, Azerbaijan will become the second biggest gas supplier of Turkey. He has made the statement at the ceremony of TANAP completion today. The ceremony has taken place in Edirne Province.
He said that the project is one more emphasis of the importance of the two countries’ relations.
“Four years ago, when the Leaders of Turkey and Azerbaijan had made a historical decision, Socar was awarded an honorable mission of constructing the Trans Anatolian pipeline. Our aspiration directed to the project completion ended up with the result. Last year we launched the south stretch of the corridor and the first section of the TANAP. The Turkish market has already added 3.2 billion cubic meters of gas through it”. – Abdulayev said.
He stated that TANAP is absolutely ready to transport gas to Europe. The Socar President, evaluating the works, noted that it was a quality work accomplished in compliance with the modern standards.
“It is the first time in the history that Azerbaijani gas is transported from the Caspian to the European market.
Consequent from the fact that we have become a new gas supplier of the region, the export volume will correspondingly increase in Turkey. Azerbaijan will become the second biggest gas supplier for our sister country”, - declared Abdulayev.
