Nigerian police have rescued 300 people in the city of Kaduna as a result of a special operation most of them were children between the age of 5 and 16. Some of the victims of trafficking were handcuffed. There were traces of beatings and torture on  the backs of some children. According to the city police chief it is not yet known how the kidnapped were found in the local school building.

Police say trafficking victims were sexually abused and often left without food. According to him some of them lived in the building for years.

Police arrested seven people, including school teachers.

Currently children are provided with medical care.

"We found out that two children were from Burkina Faso, most of them were forced by parents from the northern states of Nigeria," Yakubu Sabo, Kaduna police official said.
