NASA astronaut Christina Koch made history Saturday, setting the record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman. Her mission in space already lasts for 289 days. Such a record has not been set before by a woman. To the date, the record was set by Peggy Whitson, who spent 288 consecutive days in space.

Koch will remain on the station until February 2020.

Despite the data, Peggy Whitson is still considered the woman astronaut record holder. She has spent 666 days as the sum of different missions in the space. She left the Earth five times.
