Cluster bombs fired by Armenians target as many victims as possible, Hikmet Hajiyev says

"The Armenian army, in flagrant violation of the humanitarian ceasefire regime, keeps shelling Azerbaijan's territories and peaceful civilians. This act points to the fact that the Armenian side's statements on the humanitarian truce are nothing more than hypocrisy," Hikmet Hajiyev, the assistant to the Azerbaijani president and head of the foreign policy department of the Presidential Administration, said at the briefing.

In Hajiyev's words, the Armenian Armed Forces have fired "Smerch" missiles at Azerbaijan's cities of Barda and Terter.

"This terrorist act has left four peaceful civilians, including a child, dead and lots of people injured. Armenians, in violation of international law, are employing cluster bombs against peaceful civilians of Azerbaijan. These bombs target as many victims as possible. Armenia cannot attack Azerbaijan's Armed Forces and targets peaceful citizens instead," Hikmet Hajiyev said.

Hajiyev also pointed out that Armenia fired around 50 missiles at the Geranboy, Terter, Aghjabedin, and Barda regions. A total of 69 civilians have been killed and 322 peaceful citizens injured in the Armenians' attack.

According to the assistant to the Azerbaijani leader, the Azerbaijani side has notified international humanitarian organizations of Armenians' move to employ the forbidden weapon against Azerbaijan.
