The Embassy of China in Copenhagen demands an apology from the Danish edition Jyllands-Posten for the published caricature on coronavirus.

A caricature published in Jillands-Posten on January 27, shows viral particles instead of stars on the Chinese flag.

The embassy believes the caricature "transcends the ethical boundaries of freedom of speech" and "offends China and the feelings of the Chinese people."

"I don't see anything bad in this drawing. It reflects what is happening in the world right now," Jacob Nybroe, the Editor-in-Chief of Jyllands-Posten, said, adding that the editors were not trying to insult China, and do not intend to apologize for the cartoon.

The author of the cartoon is artist Niels Bo Bojesen, who did not comment on the matter.
