Over the past day, 15,316 new cases of coronavirus were detected in Russia. Thus, the total number of infections in 85 regions of the country since the beginning of the pandemic was 10,601,300. This was announced on Thursday, January 6, by the infection control headquarters in its Telegram channel.
At the same time, a day earlier, 15,772 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were registered in the country.
According to the headquarters, the largest number of infected people was detected in Moscow (2357), St. Petersburg (1286), the Moscow region (742) and the Krasnodar Territory (411). At the same time, the smallest number of patients with confirmed infection were in the Magadan Region (11), Kamchatka Territory (11), Tyva (10) and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (3).
Over the past 24 hours, 802 people have died from complications. Over the entire period, 313 817 deaths were recorded with COVID-19.
At the same time, 22,949 patients recovered and were discharged from the hospital. It is specified that since the beginning of the pandemic, 9,623,677 people have been cured of the infection.
