The Dominican Republic is electing a president, vice-president, 32 senators, and 190 deputies today, BBC writes.
Reportedly, 7,529,932 voters participate. The polls are open from 07:00 until 17:00.
Six presidential candidates are participating in the run. According to the inquiries, the more chance-holder is the Modern Revolutionary Party leader, Luis Abinader, then come the Dominican Liberation Party leader, Gonzalo Castillo, and independent candidate, Leonel Fernandez.
Sociologists forecast the second-round elections.
Initially, the elections were scheduled for May 17, postponed for the COVID pandemic reason.
