European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar has arrived in Azerbaijan, the local media reports.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has already received the Special Representative of the European Union.
Issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union, current regional issues, as well as security and humanitarian situations on the ground were discussed during the meetings. The importance of the development of cooperation between the European Union and Azerbaijan was emphasized; it was also noted that Azerbaijan is a reliable partner of the European Union.
During the visit, Klaar will hold meetings with several officials of the country.
After the visit to Baku, the EU special representative will visit Tbilisi and Yerevan.
