A civic initiative to prohibit the use of fireworks by private individuals in Finland has been submitted to the parliament.
The initiative would ban the use of category F2 and F3 fireworks by consumers. These categories include erratic flights, rockets, bangers, air bombs and others.
According to the activists, they aim to decrease the number of those sustaining firework injuries. They also say that fireworks scare off animals and shocks them.
The parliament will discuss the initiative in the immediate future.
