Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan issues statement regarding French journalists

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia has released information on the wounding of two journalists of the French newspaper Le Monde in occupied Nagorno-Karabakh.

"We would like to note that Armenia organizes journalists' visits to the war zone, endangers the lives of foreign journalists, and violates the norms of international humanitarian law," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan stated.

On September 27, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan officially stated that the target of the Azerbaijani army is not civilians and facilities. Unlike the aggressor Armenia, Azerbaijan adheres to international humanitarian law requirements, including the Geneva Convention.

"Deliberate admission of foreign journalists to a dangerous area indicates that the Armenian government is neglecting its obligations to ensure the safety of journalists and using foreign journalists for its illegal purposes.

On our part, we appeal to foreign journalists, urging them to obtain the permission of the Azerbaijani side in advance for a visit to the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions of Azerbaijan," the statement said.
