Police officers began searching for the Minister of Health of the Omsk Region, Alexander Murakhovsky, allegedly missing while hunting, Deutsche Welle reports.

Before he was appointed head of the local Ministry of Health in November 2020, Murakhovsky worked as chief physician of the city clinical emergency hospital, where Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was hospitalized in August 2020.

The Interior Ministry reports the search is underway for a "resident of Omsk born in 1971" who had left "for a forest" from a hunting base in the village of Pospelovo, Bolsheukovsky District, on an ATV.

"For about a day, the acquaintances of the missing man tried to find the man, after which they reported the incident to the police," the Ministry of Internal Affairs declares.
