No information on Georgian citizens being on board the Pegasus Airlines plane -- which skidded off the runway and broke into multiple pieces after landing at an airport in Istanbul Wednesday-- has been received by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.

"We have not received any information saying that Georgian citizens were on board the plane. The Consulate General keeps in touch with all corresponding bodies," the Foreign Ministry says.

Fifty two people were injured after a plane has skidded off a runway, split in three and burst into flames.

The Boeing 737-800 internal flight carrying 177 people from Izmir appears to have skidded in wet weather at Istanbul's airport in Turkey.

Turkish officials say there were no deaths in the incident that injured 52, including the two pilots, according to Mirror.co.uk.
