A ceremony in memory of those who lost their lives due to COVID-19 will be held in Germany on April 18.

The deceased's families will take part in the event, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier told Rheinische Post.

A limited number of participants will attend the event, he said.

More than 60,000 died of the COVID-19 infection in Germany, Robert Koch Institute reports.
