The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, declared that Iran is managing the risks of coronavirus better than Europe.
“When we say that our country is in a better situation than Europe, it irritates many people. Yes, it is so. Today we manage coronavirus much better than you do.” – says Rouhani. The President casts his speech through TV.
According to Rouhani, the reason for it is that “Iran has good human resources, professional medical personnel, informational support and military forces.”
“Coronavirus spread in our country as well… though apart from you, we had the virus beforehand, even more dangerous ones, and these are the sanctions,” – says the President.
The government of Iran declared several times that the sanctions imposed by Washington limit the ability of the country to fight coronavirus. The Iranian party says that the USA sanctions create an obstacle to deliver humanitarian goods, including food and medical items.
According to the latest information, the total number of infected Iranians is 70,029; the number of fatalities is at least 4,232.
